"Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!" (2)
This is a thought that comes to my mind everyday at some point. Whether it's in the morning trying to class on time or meeting a friend for dinner, I hate being late. I've been this was my whole life and unfortunately I believe I will always be that way. Growing up my dad would always tell my brother and I that when you're early then you're on time and if you're on time then you're late. I have taken this saying & have ran with it, because I always try to be somewhere at least five minutes early. I also understand that this can be a problem.
When you're so concerned with time, it's hard to stop and smell the roses. After our discussion last week in class, I really started to self-reflect on my own life. I am that person who always wears a watch & is constantly looking at it. "The rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on." (2) I know that being in a rush all the time, is not an enjoyable way to live life. I am going to challenge myself to stop and smell the roses more often and to just let go of everything I have to do in a day to just be free. Time waits for no one and the more I spend watching it go by, the less time I will spend enjoying it! "Time is what we want most, but use worst." (William Penn)

"What will become of me?" (25)
I think most college students would agree, that it would be nice to look ahead to see what we will be in the future. To see what our jobs will be, if we are married, or even have kids. Our future is something that is always our mind and something that we are always working toward. But when will we stop worrying about our future and start living in the moment? If we spend all of our time worrying about our future, we will not realize the progress we have made so far. "Now I can do no more, whatever happens." (25) Being okay with yourself and where you are in your life is very important. When you love yourself and are proud of who you are, everything else will fall into place. When we can learn to let go of the stress and worry and to just say whatever happens, happens will do wonders for our lives. "Accept yourself, love yourself, and keep moving forward. If you want to fly, you have to give up what weighs you down.” (Roy Bennet)

"present in some ways the world of a new woman" (589)
In 2017, you would think that women were fully independent and had the right to decide what they wanted to do and when they wanted to do it. Although we have come a long way since the time when women were expected to stay home all day, cook, clean, and raise a family, it seems like we have taken a few steps backwards recently. With the new president elect, it seems like some ignorant people believe they have control over the rights of women. Or that they can make inappropriate comments about women and then just call it "locker room talk." Some men seem to believe that they know what's best for women, more than women know what's best for themselves. When Donald Trump signed an executive order to ban federal money going to international groups that perform or provide information on abortions, I was shocked. There are several different problems with Donald Trump doing this. Regardless of what your views are on abortion, telling a woman what she can and cannot do is not okay. Another problem is that places that provide abortions, do not just
provide abortions. Planned parenthood for example, provides patients with birth control, cancer screenings, general healthcare, men's sexual health care, STD care, pregnancy care, and much more. If you cut funding to a place like this, there is a lot at risk. Many people will be without the proper care that they need. So, the question is that is the world of a new woman? One thing is for sure, women will not stop fighting until a change is made. “The strength of a woman is not measured by the impact that all her hardships in life have had on her; but the strength of a woman is measured by the extent of her refusal to allow those hardships to dictate her and who she becomes.” (C. Joybell)
